NPsych partners offer:
Assessment and reports for all legal cases involving suspected brain
injury or psychological dysfunction
All NPsych partners undertake cases for personal
injury arising out of:
Traumatic brain injury
Medical negligence
Alcohol related brain injury
Toxic brain injury (e.g. CO poisoning)
Cognitive effects of PTSD and psychiatric dysfunction
NPsych partners are able to provide assessments
and opinions for criminal cases where brain damage is invovled.
NPsych assessments incorporate rigorous scientific methods utilising cutting
edge tests and procedures that bring objectivity and reliability to the
medico-legal arena. All reports include a detailed chronology of pre- and
post-accident medical history. A wide range of cognitive, emotional and
personality domains are assessed and all assessments incorporate symptom
validity testing. Reports are comprehensive, clear, properly presented and
address all issues required by the legal profession including issues related
to mental capacity.
Analysis, Consultation and Advice
All NPsych partners are happy to provide analysis and advice on cases and
other expert neuropsychological evidence, including provision of desk top
reports. NPsych partners can provide opinion on:
The probability of there having been a brain injury
The likely severity of any brain injury
The need for any neuropsychological assessment and expert
opinion
The need for any other expert opinion
Case Management Consultation and Advice
NPsych partners are happy to provide supervision, consultation and advice to
case managers and therapists providing rehabilitation services to people
with brain injuries. This includes site visits, attendance at
multi-disciplinary meetings and troubleshooting problems related to the
achievement of rehabilitation goals, including the assessment of mental
capacity.
Rehabilitation Assessments and Therapy
All NPsych partners are happy to provide neuropsychological assessments,
advice, goal planning and direction for the rehabilitation of brain injured
individuals both within and outside the medico-legal framework. Dr Bunnage
is happy to provide individual CBT based and rehabilitation interventions
for brain injured individuals.
Private Patients and Occupational Health
All Npsych partners are happy to see private patients. Neuropsychological
assessment can have a role in many areas including assisting with complex
diagnoses and identifying cognitive problems early in the course of various
illnesses, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease or other
neurological conditions.
Assessment
results that describe an individual's cognitive strengths and weaknesses can
be useful, amongst other things, in helping to plan reintegration to work or
college/university after an illness or injury affecting the brain, including
the provision of advice about strategies and accommodations to help overcome
any residual neuropsychological disabilities.
Continued Professional Development
All Npsych partners are very happy to provide lectures on aspects of
neuropsychology and reporting for the Courts. We are happy to 'spread the
word' and do not charge for our services in this aspect of our practice.
