What is Neuropsychology?
Neuropsychology is the branch of psychology which addresses the link between
brain and behaviour. Neuropsychological assessments are an objective way of
quantifying and characterising the cognitive, behavioural and emotional
sequelae of the changes in brain function that can occur after damage or
with disease affecting the brain. In addition to assessment,
neuropsychologists are in an excellent position to educate and advise
patients and their families to help them understand and adapt to the changes
that can result from brain damage.
What is NPsych?
NPsych is a partnership between Dr Nigel Walton, Dr Renee McCarter and Dr
Martin Bunnage. All are Consultant Neuropsychologists skilled in the assessment of
acquired brain dysfunction and its effect on behaviour and cognition and in
the differentiation of organic and functional deficits. All hold honorary
University of Bristol appointments and are engaged in teaching
neuropsychology at graduate and post-graduate levels. All current partners
of NPsych are
Chartered Psychologists (C.Psychol) and
Full
Practitioner Members of the Division of Neuropsychology of the British
Psychological Society.
Our practice is managed by Ms Catherine Mair MSc, who has extensive
experience in the field.
We provide reports to the legal, medical and occupational health professions
as well as to the CICA and private individuals.
We provide reports of the highest calibre, reflecting our commitment to
excellence in scientific practice. Our reports are thoroughly researched,
well considered, impartial and based on sound scientific decision-making
principles. As a result they are extremely resistant to challenge. Our aim
is to provide opinions upon which instructing parties can robustly depend.
We regularly review our practices via peer review and are always keen to
discuss matters with instructing parties so as to ensure that our work
remains as highly valued as it is currently.
Our
fee structure reflects a number of factors:
- Our commitment to excellence.
- Our overheads in providing quality assessment settings in Bristol and
London.
- Provision of a high quality administration.
- Our experience and standing within the profession.
- The fees charged by our peers.
- Our commitment to work with instructing parties to ensure that deadlines
are always met
regardless of any inconvenience to ourselves.
